Filmmaker Bio
David Scharf is a now 24 year old student at the Univercity of Applied Sciences Augsburg / Germany. His course of studies, "multimedia", combines graphics design and computer science. His main interests are animation and interactive media and installations. David Scharf has recently published his first animated short, "The Big Brother State", a film about the risks of public surveillance.

Since terrorism has become a global threat, especially after 9/11, governments all over the world have started enforcing laws which, so the governments say, should increase national security.

These laws obviously aim at another goal: the states gaining more and more control of their citizens at the cost of our privacy and freedom.

Το Big Brother State (Κράτος Μεγάλου Αδελφού) είναι ένα εκπαιδευτικό Film μικρού μήκους, για το τι ισχυρίζονται οι πολιτικοί ότι είναι προστασία της ελευθερίας μας, αλλά και πως εμείς ενδίδουμε στην κατασταλτική νομοθεσία.

Δεδομένου ότι η «τρομοκρατία» έχει γίνει μια παγκόσμια απειλή, ειδικά μετά από την 9/11, οι κυβερνήσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο έχουν αρχίσει να επιβάλουν νόμους που, όπως λένε, αποφέρουν στο να αυξήσουν την εθνική ασφάλεια.

Αυτοί οι νόμοι έχουν προφανώς σε έναν άλλο στόχο: τα κράτη να κερδίζουν όλο και περισσότερο τον έλεγχο των πολιτών τους, με το κόστος την ιδιωτική μας ζωή και την ελευθερία μας.
